View Full Version : My progress and a little confusion over MPPT...

Tribe,

I continue to work with the materials in Maximology and in Body Flow and I make great progress. Neck rolls and twisting spinal arches come with ease and I have doubled the repetitions of screw-ups I can do.

My lower body has continued to suck until the other day when I came across the latest Cirsular Strength Training magazine that boasts an article by the Master Coach himself:

"Lumbarred from Pain-Free Mobility?"

I began doing the MPPT and BOOM! that is the exercise I needed to begin accessing the stuck areas in my hips. I do rotations clockwise and counterclockwise and I do figure-eights as if I was drawing one on the floor with my coccyx. I reverse directions too.

But... what is all this:

Cardinal Infinities, or “figure eight” movements: (one example of many) tilt your pelvis in sequence – left, forward, right, left, backward, right, center for one repetition…infinity, or “figure eight” movements: (one example of many) tilt your pelvis in sequence – left, forward, right, left, backward, right, center for one repetition…

Diagonal Infinities: (one example of many) tilt your pelvis in sequence – forward, right, left, backward, center, for one repetition…

Clover Leaves: (one example of many) tilt your pelvis in sequence – forward, right, left, forward, backward, left, right, backward, center for one repetition…

I have been sitting here for like 30 minutes and once again I am proprioceptively retarded. Can someone translate this for me from the perspective that I am drawing something with my coccyx?

Thanks in advance!

Hope to make it to a seminar later in the year,

Plato,

those are all descriptions of the figures you'll "draw". If you're already doing a figure eight, then just imagine:

- a figure eight at right angles to the one you're doing

- a figure eight at a 45 degree angle to the one you're doing

- two figure eights crossed in the middle, and many variations of how they connect

The "right, left, forward, back" descriptions refer to the ordinal directions on the "quadrant chart" in that same article. Moving from one ordinal to another ("forward, right"), you trace a (sort of) quarter-circle. That circle completes every time you move from and to the center position.

Think of adding the points where you cross the center to the descriptions, that might help... for example:

Cardinal Infinities, or “figure eight” movements: (one example of many) tilt your pelvis in sequence – left, forward, right, center, left, backward, right, center for one repetition…

Diagonal Infinities: (one example of many) tilt your pelvis in sequence – forward, right, center, left, backward, center, for one repetition…

Clover Leaves: (one example of many) tilt your pelvis in sequence – forward, right, center left, forward, center, backward, left, center, right, backward, center for one repetition…

Got it.

"Think of adding the points where you cross the center to the descriptions, that might help... for example:"

Yup, that cleared it up immediately.

Thanks for the quick assistance. Off to do some after-work screw-ups.
