I present this thread in response to Connies' thread
" Body-Flow and the flight from gravity - just thinkin"
discussing Six Degrees of Freedom.

Coming from a Physics background, I was somewhat initially perplexed by Scott's definition in his videos/writings of his "Six Degrees of Freedom" ( being left/right, up/down, and front/back ).

My background had defined these similar to the following:

http://www.simlabs.arc.nasa.gov/vms/dof.html

http://www.globaldevices.com/6dof.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degrees_of_freedom

Because I was somewhat amazed at the calibre of a lot of the work he put out there, I worked through a mass of his different materials available , and arrived at a surprising (and pleasing) conclusion.

All of the Warrior Wellness and associated materials do indeed work the joints and bones through the true Six Degrees of Freedom without being overly complicated to learn or retain.

Scott has taken quite a potentially complicated concept, somewhat bastardized and lead people gently through that concept, and produced an amazing outcome.

People are indeed working in all Six Degrees of Freedom !!!!!

( I personally love the somewhat more complicated Tensegrity model of the body and yet again, this approach sits very well here as well.)

I greatly admire approaches that allow easy and ready "access" for the masses out there - very, very few people have the ability to do this - Scott has again done it in this concept - very, very big respect, Mr Sonnon!!!!!!

I would suggest to you yet again, that we , "the tribe", are very lucky to have the access we enjoy, to Scott's evolving brainspace and material.

This man has an amazing brain.

Cheers

Yep, he sneaks "roll, pitch, and yaw" in on you without naming them.

There ends up being a 7th degree of freedom... time... as in, going back to where we were before we stiffened up. Time alone doesn't rob us of mobility, but (rigidity x time) sure does.

WW puts a tangible, graspable handle on the "use it or lose it" we've heard all our lives but didn't know how to implement in a comprehensive way.
