I finished my Swipe Density Cycle (http://circularstrengthmag.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1759) this morning, and now I plan to start a 2-week Learning Cycle, to develop skills with movements I haven't done or at least not done enough to say I've "got them."

Basic Movements I feel I need work on include:
Inside and Outside Circles
Shield Cast
Inside and Outside Pendulums
Full Parry Cast
Head Cast
Shoulder Cast
Jerk
Snatch
F/B Pendulum

Combination Movements I want to nail down:
Mill
Bullwhip
Warrior Be Strong
Moulinet
Hammer Throw

I'm already working on Warrior Wellness Intermediate, and I plan to start really working Be Breathed this week.

I know I need to start playing with Bodyflow, but I have a tendency to try and master too much new stuff at a time and not do very well with it. I have the Bodyflow book and the GTB tapes, so can incorporate this if I choose to.

Please offer your suggestions for a short program to get me rolling, which I can continue with when I start another Density cycle in a few weeks. (Of course, if this Learning program is REALLY cool, I might push the Density cycle back a little bit... )

My initial thought was to do 2 Learning cycles back to back as shown below:
Learning Cycle 1 - 2 weeks - 10# CBs

Inside Circle
Shield Cast
Outside Circle
Head Cast
Full Parry Cast

Ratchets 5x7, 5x8, 5x9, 5x8, 5x9, 5x10

Warrior Wellness and Bodyflow/GTB for Active Recovery, MMA and Escrima for fighting technique and competitive practice

Learning Cycle 2 - 2 weeks - 10# CBs

Mill
Warrior Be Strong
Bullwhip
Moulinet
Hammer Throw

Ratchets 5x7, 5x8, 5x9, 5x8, 5x9, 5x10

Warrior Wellness and Bodyflow/GTB for Active Recovery, MMA and Escrima for fighting technique and competitive practice

Any additional thoughts, concerns, comments, ideas, etcetera you have would be welcome!

I will be attending CST Epsilon and would like to be ready to test for certification. I will order my 15# CBs soon, and expect to be ready to wield those for the seminar as well. Basically I have less than 3 months to prepare and I don't want to show up without having achieved at least a basic competency in core CST movements and practice.

Jason,

Everything appears viable, except the load of complexity. Too many skills to learn causes a deterioration in each one.

Focus on Week 1 (2 Sessions Grind / 2 Sessions Ballistic - Alternating):
Grind Session: [list:904ef46d8b]Circles 5 repetitions in either direction to warm-up
Shield Cast - Ratchet style
Shoulder Cast - Ratchet style
Ballistic Session: Circles 5 repetitions in either direction to warm-up
Parry Cast - Ratchet style
Reverse Parry Cast - Ratchet style[/list:u:904ef46d8b] Focus on Week 2 Combination Routines (alternating):
Grind Combo Session: [list:904ef46d8b]Circles 5 repetitions in either direction to warm-up
Bullwhip - Ratchet style
Ballistic Combo Session: Circles 5 repetitions in either direction to warm-up
Hammer Swing - Ratchet style[/list:u:904ef46d8b] Report to the PROGRAM LOGS with your daily progress.

Sounds good so far!

I'm actually fairly comfortable with the Shield Cast and Full Parry Cast already, so I think those will more be polishing than shaping. I've played with the Bullwhips a bit already, so that will be fun too!

When I do my next Density cycle, I'm thinking of doing Mills. Do you think the proposed protocol will prep me for that, or should I not worry about it until after this 2-week protocol?

Change the Circles to I/O Pendulums, and it will feed into your Mill Density Cycle.

Thanks! I'll give it a try!
