Last week switched to the 50-with-right, 50-with-left grip density program, 5 sets of ten for clean to order with each. This was Monday Wednesday Friday, and it was interesting watching one of my sparring partners blowing air and dripping sweat while I felt relatively fresh. Interesting. Took Sat and Sunday off from everything, felt a little stiff and sore, got plenty of sleep, and am eager to get back to work monday. My question: Current plan is to 100-rep deathmarch clean to order MWF, with a little GTG of a Gama Cast (still working on that one) TThSat. If this sounds sane, then one last eager-beaver question:

I'm dying to try a bit of "functional hypertrophy". Should I wait until my Death March cycle is complete, or can I integrate some of Doug's tasty FH exercises now? If so, when? TThSat, or possibly after the day's density workout (which now takes only about 15-20 minutes.

Or am I courting burnout? If the sane thing to do is just let my body heal up from those hundred reps, believe me guys, I'll listen. I'm LOVIN' the bruiser!

Steve

p.s.--tomorrow it's 10 sets of 11 clean to order. What good, evil fun this is.

Steve,
Yes, you would court overtraining with flowers and chocolate. Wait until the end of your Density cycle... you must allow the adaptation to set-in to receive the benefits, and to prevent degradation of returns. You will need an active recovery cycle after the Density cycle before moving on to a FH cycle. Patience brother. Slow and steady.

All right then. 100 reps clean to order, 50 on each hand. Planning to GTG Gama casts on alternated days, unless you think that's too much. I'll mix in playful Body-Flow and martial arts practise, but nothing heavy. Warrior Wellness morning and night. Cool?
