What is a dyslexic atheist? One who believes there is no dog.
At any rate, with my puppy as my witness, I did 100 reps clean to order with the Bruiser (50 right hand grip, 50 left hand grip) this morning in nine minutes twenty-eight seconds. Most of the time I was at a perceived exertion level of about 6. The last reps I was about 8 or 9. Many, many thanks to Coach Sonnon and Coach Szolek for their many, many encouragements.
The Bruiser is indeed what I suspected it would be: a perfect way to increase my fitness and mental toughness without tightening my body up. The only problem was its addictive potential: it was too much fun! Overtraining rapidly became a real issue, and Coach Sonnon was pulling my reins like crazy: "Whoa, boy! Don't try to sprint all the way to Disneyland!". When I slowed down, cut out ALL other resistance work (including, *sob!* my beloved GTG) advancement came rapidly.
Next up: a week of rest and active recovery. Then the next cycle begins: Clean to Order with Gama Cast. This is going to be great, brutal fun, and I just can't wait.
Thanks again to all the tribe for their encouragement and support. This is the best training group of my life, bar none.
