hello,

well tribe, as usual, coach jones KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!!!!

we got lucky and coach jones devoted the full lesson plan to intermediate class!!!!

coach jones introduced only three punching combinations during the entire four hour class, but he showed us many different drills and ways to employ these combinations. it is clear coach jones prefers depth of understanding over "dazzling" us with a multitude of techniques.

coach jones kept the pace moving, without overwhelming us, and kept the focus on superior mechanics rather than speed or power. during each portion of instruction, he would pause for questions to ensure our understanding of the material, however, there were few questions due to coach jones' superior training style. he always gives an energetic presentation, maintaining high standards of performance and safety.

in addition, coach haggard was on hand and answered questions, corrected technique when needed (and boy did we need it!), and just generally encouraged us to a higher level of performance. he really helped us get the most out of our timed rounds! coach haggard really loves seeing people learn and improve. also, his own punching is getting a lot crisper, and a lot louder (and this means WAY WAY harder!!). coach haggard is lookin' hard, folks!

the entire group had a good time and everyone seemed to enjoy each others company. managed to get some joking in with quinton. sadly, we did not "sparkle" this time. nor did we have the opportunity for "jazz hands". BUT...take heart tribe, quinton did manage to do an AWESOMELY FUNNY impression of mr. valery of AKC. you really really should have been there to see it!!

during the seminar, we had a couple opportunities to change or add training partners, which is an added bonus. in this case, got to train with isaac (aka "dude") and stevenhogg (aka "hoggie"). both brought enthusiasm, and a great deal of knowledge to the mix, and it was a real treat to train with them. tell you what tribe... those two hit HAAAAAAAAAAARD. holding the focus mitts for those two was an adventure for sure.

as exciting as their respective punching power was, even better was seeing them both improve their technique, accuracy, balance, timing and understanding as the class progressed. it was amazing and humbling.

overall, it was a tremendous opportunity to learn from some great coaches and hang out with some great guys. the material was stellar, the presentation was humor filled, but serious, and our group just plain had a good time. we learned a ton, had fun and got WORN OUT!

if you have interest in combative sports, but have not attended a flowbox seminar, you NEED to treat your self! the price is very inexpensive, especially compared to the VAST amount of material you get for you money. having a good time is also a big part of the seminar too, so come see coaches jones and haggard next month.

you will love it!

promise.

thanks

Whew!! Talk about sore! I awoke this morning like Fred G.Sanford from Sanford and Son(for those old enough to even know who that is: ) walking like an old stiff man, but with a smile on my face. morning Intu-Flow® never felt so good!

As Lorenzo said above...Coach Jones did indeed knock it out the park!! We did have some great fun and got some amazing insight into flowboxing. Brandon has such an easy way of sharing his vast knowledge of boxing and the martial arts. And he also happens to be one of the funniest men i've ever met. The man keeps me laughing as he keeps me sweating. And most important he give us things to work on until the next month. This is huge as it sets a tone for consistent improvement.

I so look forward each month to coming to these seminars. If u are anywhere near to LA and interested in the martial arts and boxing, get your butt here!! you are missing something great.

peace and blessings,

ps. my impression of Valerie was an impression I saw Coach Sonnon make when he was here in LA. Cracked us all up: )
