Hello to Everyone,
My name is Steve Cotter. I hear many good things about Coach Sonnon and this forum. Mike Mahler, Jack Myers, Steve Maxwell and some others here are good friends of mine and all speak highly about this community.
A little background about myself: A am a Sr. RKC and am quite honored to have been selected by Pavel to help him inflict pain on all the "victims" at the RKC certifications. I have been training with kettlebells for almost 2 years and they are a big part of my life--training, business, home decor, and home defense! My primary background is in Internal martial arts as a practitioner of hsing-i chuan for over 20 years.
I do own 3 pairs of CBs--15s, 20s, and 25s. I have not used them too much, however I am now particularly interested in taking my grip strength to a much higher level and I see CB training as a very efficient path to accomplishing this. So, I will be using them regularly as an adjunct to my KB training and will report my progress and the carryover to my other training.
I love to interact with all types of folks. Although I am a teacher by trade, I consider myself a student first and foremost, and am interested in learning from all of you. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions if I can inspire or assist you in any way.
I have developed a program called Full KOntact Kettlebells, which is gleaned from my years of training in gong fu and full contact fighting, combined with my experience as a kettlebell instructor and in athletics in general. There are fundamental movement principles in all forms of MA training which KB training can help to accelerate the acquisition of. I will within the next few weeks have a video/dvd of the same name on the market. I think it will fill a void for many MA practitioners out there.
Please take a look at my new website, www.fullcontactkettlebells.com
I will be adding a lot of content over the next several weeks, so please bare with me. Please offer any comments you may have about the site, my method of training, or simply to exchange information.
Again, I want to thank Scott Sonnon for his tireless efforts and for providing this incredible medium of exchange.
I look forward to getting to know you all better.
Train Intently,
Steve Cotter
