Hello all,

I just ordered a pair of 5's, with a pact with my mother that once I become proficient with them, she'll pay for the 10's. They should hopefully arrive soon, and I'm just wondering, being 14, at 105lbs, and around 5'8", what are some good exercises that I can do without hurting my back (slight spinal problem) and not being harmful to my health?

Luckily, I already train with Slade Billew, so perhaps he can provide some insight into the matter.

Thanks,
-Ilya

RMAX cannot provide PROGRAM DESIGN guidance through the forum to minors for these reasons and others.

Get signed clearance from your doctor before beginning this type of training. Get your parents to sign a waiver releasing liability for your coach to train you. Disclose all issues with your back to your coach. At 14, some of your joints, to varying degrees, may still be pre-cartilagenous. Some of your connective tissues may not be fully developed and secured.

Since you have a personal CST instructor, this is the best course of action for helping you get started.

Actually, Sir, that's the beauty of the situation. My mom's a doctor and has not only agreed with my Clubbell training, but also encouraged it. If it's an issue of liability.......well.......I'm almost 15 now and have consulted my doctor about it already. My "back problem" isn't the least bit serious, but it does ache slightly after hard workouts. I'd just rather not stress it as much as the primary muscles.
