I started the beginner level of Intu-Flow daily around the middle of November by using the free materials Scott posted on his web page. By the beginning of January I had made some small range of motion advances...like gotten the side to side motion in my wrist back... which had been missing. I don't know how long this had been this way, but I don't really remember ever having that range of motion. I only noticed it missing when I started Intu-Flow wrist circles. That was encouraging. The next thing I noticed was a reduction in the tendinitis in my elbows. My elbow had gotten some severe pain from heavy kettlebell presses which was nearly constant. The absence of this pain was accompanied by a significant rise in pressing strength. I can military press a 32kg kettlebell 10 times per side (without the clean) with strict form now. I had been limited at around 6 presses just a short while ago. This rise in pressing strength occurred while I was not training the press, so I feel that having an efficient range of motion was responsible.

In March I started the intermediate Intu-Flow. I started doing intermediate about half the time and beginner about half the time. Now I usually do beginner in the morning and intermediate in the afternoon before exercise. Recently I have noticed some strange things. In the past I could barely touch my toes with straight legs, but now I can place my palms on the floor with straight legs. The perfect downward facing dog is easy. Other yoga poses that I had tried before without success are also now easy. Any position requiring leg "flexibility" is a go now. Note that I do not train these motions. Recently I just tried them and experienced no trouble like I did as recently as February. One thing I noted today is that I can do the full plow position and back bends are fairly easy. A month back I could not do camel without straining and now I can do bridges and camel easily. Note that I do not train these positions. Today was the first time trying them in a couple of months. I am a man who gave up yoga because he could not do the wimpy positions well even. My recovery from severe obesity left me with very limited movement...up until recently. Now I feel that I am more flexible and fluid than most.

I don't feel any different. Just sitting around I feel the same, but I obviously have some new capabilities. I started Intu-Flow after seeing Scott do Prasara. I was so in awe of that I decided to try the system to see if it could make me even slightly more graceful. After today I may start doing Prasara. I see no barriers to most of the beginning movements now.

In January I bought the DVD, but I am still using the beginner and intermediate so I have not really used the DVD for real yet. I will start the advanced this weekend and try to memorize the movements. I noticed that most of my advances came after I memorized the movements and made them more accessible. Good show Mr. Sonnon...your system rocks immensely.

Question if I may:
In the past I felt that yoga poses required muscular flexibility...you know...what is referred to as stretching type ability. However, I have achieved many of those poses recently and felt no stretch was needed. Are all of these advanced type yoga movements actually dependent on mobility instead? Most people just try to get a longer stretch...is that really necessary for any of it?

Yoga was always a mobility discipline... until Western static stretching advocates got a hold of it. Even asana is a mode of yoga which oscillates between depth, width and height, allowing fascia to melt and restore mobility.

You're an inspiration, Atl!

I loved reading your experiences with Intu-Flow, just beginning the process, as I am.
