Just got introduced into the art of belly dance by my student.
This kind of sophistication intrigues me.

:) Whenever I think the word "bellydancer" in my head, it sounds like Homer Simpson talking about a donut. :D

5 of my students are belly dancers including an instructor. It is very interesting working with dancers and seeing new ways of integrating movement into practice.
Kathy Lucas who is on here is actually the top African dance instructor in the Kansai area. Hopefully we can get her to post some things for us in relation to CST and dance.

I've seen some absolutely incredible examples of belly dance while traveling the Middle East. The control they can build over the core muscles, and the isolation of specific areas, is impressive as hell.

Herman, in case "introduced" meant more than just being told about it, and "intrigued" means more than just looking into it more, I thought I'd chime in so you weren't hang'in out there alone *cough,cough....clearing throat in a very manly way, puffing chest (very effectively thanks to thoracic mobility drills)*.
It's been 6 years since I moved to Vancouver, and made the promise to a friend to take some belly dance classes (long story). Have actually been thinking recently about finally getting to it (in fact spurred on by my CST training).
Perhaps this summer. I'll pop back by here when I do.
*sinks a little when the realization comes that Herman was actually just told about it and his intrigue goes only so far as Youtube.....:embarassed:*
