Coach Sonnon,

I'm thinking about starting to run again. Not long distance, just 2 miles at the most. Mainly shorten the time I do it as I get accustomed to it with my training. My question is what kind of footware should I run in. In Warrior Wellness you speak of over-engineered footware being a problem. Should I just run in a basic sneaker without any kind of support like Converse 's Chuck Taylors? Thanks for any info!!!

On what surface do you plan on running?

There's an asphalt track around the corner from my house I'll probably run on most of the time. For a change of pace I'll probably run on the street around my neighborhood. I already mapped out the route that I'm going to run on besides the track. Thanks!!!

Find yourself a high-quality running shoe. Lo-tech shoes and barefoot running are best left to soft grass and sand until one can transform gait.
