I know I can't be the ONLY person in Minnesota that's working with CST & Clubbells. If you would be interested in coming to an informal training group in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, let me know!

For folks in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area of Minnesota:

I wanted to let you know that I am putting together a weekend session to introduce everyone to the principles and basic practices of Circular Strength Training and Clubbells.

Since starting to work with this stuff in January, I have lost 25 pounds of fat and rehabilitated my wrist, forearm, elbow, shoulder, hip, and lower back. My overall strength, endurance (aerobic and anaerobic), balance, and mobility have also improved tremendously. When I do something that results in soreness later, I am able to work it out and become pain-free within a few days, instead of carrying it with me. :D

Aside from the great health improvements, I am having so much fun that I've decided to become certified to teach this stuff officially. While I'm working on that, I'd like to share what I've learned so far with anyone that would like to have any or all of the benefits I've mentioned above.

I'm putting together a session that will cover some background history, fundamental training concepts, basic breathing principles and exercises, joint mobility and flexibility concepts and exercises (this is AWESOME!), basic concepts and movements for developing coordination and mobility, and the basics of working with Clubbells (FUN!!!).

There will be no martial arts instruction, but I believe everyone that attends will easily see how these fitness training methods can enhance martial arts (and other sports) practice.

To facilitate participation, I am fabricating a number of home-made Clubbell substitutes of various sizes and weights. Participants that wish to work with them prior to purchasing real Clubbells (highly recommended) will have the option to purchase them singly or in pairs. If funds permit, I hope to have extra books / instructional tapes on hand as well.

Of course, bringing your own REAL Clubbell(s) is encouraged!

There will be no charge for attendance! All I ask is that you sign a waiver and let me know about any injuries / possible medical issues before you participate in the movements. It will not be a strenuous session, but if you have a significant ongoing medical condition, please consult with a physician. Of course, you may just watch anything you do not feel comfortable attending.

This introductory CST and Clubbell session will be on Sunday, June 6th, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Location will be determined and announced within the next few days.

Please contact me via e-mail: ClubbellTrainer@aol.com if you have any questions. I hope to see you there!

Incredible opportunity, TwinCityans. I'd almost commute from TX.

Would it be hijacking your thread Jason (?) to say I offer a similar program in central TX... Austin/Georgetown/San Marcos... a mile west of 35 off Parmer. Front yard if it's nice, garage if it's not. Same terms... no cost intro to CST and Clubbells (I'm not 'officially' a CST coach yet). I have 10#ers, almost everyone can use them. (We can do intro to BJJ and kickboxing afterwards, if anyone wishes.)

I could probably schedule it at the convenience of interested people, but mid-Saturday-afternoon is a good target time.

Email arbilab@earthlink.net or use the forum email function.

No problems here! If I was worried about it, I'd have said "in Minnesota" in the subject line.

If anyone else is offering similar opportunities in your local area, post'em here for the world to know.
