Logged my training since the 80s to track my progress overcoming my physical obstacles. In '99, decided to log 10,000 hours of training in the following decade. Arbitrary but challenging goal. 2 months remain and I'm logged at 9,834 hours. Learned so much completing my 10 year goal, but feel a great need to FINISH this chapter in my odyssey of physical mastery.
In martial arts, you must practice 10,000-12,000 hours to master a weapon. In Russia, my coach taught me that we are the "invisible weapon," so I set a goal of 10G on training myself. (And 12,000 was bit more pricey than I was willing to commit at the time. I didn't realize in the 90s that the BETTER that I trained, the faster I could recover and the MORE I could train.)
Almost there!
