Been back on the WD for a little over a day now. Feeling absolutely fantastic. I didnt realize how much my energy level had dropped since switching over to frequent eating. Per the advice of Coach Sproule, I plan on alternating between days of high fat and high carb. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress with the plan.

Awesome, hopes it works for yeah :D
Question?
Myself, if I eat after 8 or 9pm, I always wake up in the morning with my stomach killing me? Its like my stomach acid is not having a good time in their?? Just happens when I eat at night, not when I eat in the morning or lunch time. So If I can help it I try to eat more a bigger lunch then anything else. Just curious if you have ever expereinced this at all????

Honestly, yes, I've experienced similar pains before. The only time it has happened though is when I didnt make the best food choices or ate extremely close to bedtime. I find that I need about 3 hours between the end of the meal and when I hit the sack, in order to feel optimal. If I eat a boatload of pizza or any "refined" type food, I generally go to sleep feeling nauseous and wake up the same.

To all,
Tomorrow will be the end of my first week on the WD. I'm not having any stomach pains and hope Jay76's clears up! I have been drinking a goodly portion of water about an hour prior to hitting the rack, maybe that's helped me avoid it.
Has anyone on the forum had cholesterol problems? I need to drastically reduce mine, and, during the "overeating" phase, I still need to ensure I don't eat the high cholesterol foods. Will eating these low-cholesterol foods be detrimental to the WD?
Any advice of thoughts will be appreciated!
Thanks to all!

When you say low cholesterol foods, what exactly do you mean? Honestly, the idea that cholesterol rich foods and high cholesterol are correlated is based on really shaky science. Check out Cholesterol Myths by Uffe Ravnskov: http://www.ravnskov.nu/cholesterol.htm (website provides a lot of solid info). In my humble opinion, sugar, refined carbs, and trans fatty acids are more likely cuprits. If I were in your position I would stick to lean proteins, an abundance of veggies and fruits, nuts, and dense carb sourches in moderation (all whole foods - oatmeal, sweet potatoes, etc.). Also, so long as you are obtaining necessary nutrients and eating whole foods, if you decide to eat low cholesterol foods I doubt it will be too harmful. Best of luck!

I agree with Humi on this one. The "bad" cholesterol in our bodies is the stuff manufactured by the liver, NOT the stuff taken in through diet.
What makes us manufacture bad cholesterol in the liver? unbalanced meals like the pizza-and-beer-o-rama (not enough veggies) or refined foods (white stuff) or trans fats or all of the above.
A meal with protein, fibrous veg, whole slow carbs will hardly get you in trouble. My cholesterol continues to go down eating this way (not WD but balanced whole foods)

Connie,
Off topic - Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your 4 day Beta-Endorphin Cycle article. It was extremely informative and provided great insight in regard to my own highs and lows.

Way cool Jonathan! If you have new insights to share I would love to hear it. We need to hear from practicing athletes who "get it."
In particular with respect to WD: have you experienced or seen others undereat so far as to invoke the starvation high? I was curious about that. If you know what that feels like I mean.

I've definitely experienced the starvation "high". In all reality, I think that the "high" itself is what feels so good about fasting throughout the day. Interestingly enough, there's a distinct difference between the high evoked from the WD fast and the high I used to get when I was anorexic. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am taking in large amounts of necessary nutrients at my main meal? Not really sure.

Can you describe this a little more? or watch for it? I am thinking that managing that high is part of the way out for people who are no longer in the "driver's seat" with the addiction part of these things.
Still using crossfit Jon?

Connie,
I'll try and focus a bit more on the "high" feeling during the undereating phase and do some self-analysis on how the two differ. Hopefully I can be of some assistance.
Mike,
For right now no. I dislocated my kneecap and am sidelined for a while. I've been focusing on pull ups, dips, bench, seated military press, etc. I still try and keep CF parameters though, as far as sets/reps/time.
