Hello - My name is Scott Hagnas, I'm now 37, and have been training for the last 7 years. I am also a BMX bike rider (freestyle), and I have done this for 21 years straight. I produce videos of BMX riding, as well. I train both for my general health, and to enhance my riding.

I have developed a strong interest in all things related to human performance, reading as much as I can. I learned of Coach Sonnon's material thru Coach John Davies, and have been swinging Clubbells since last spring. They, along with Kettlebells and gymnastic rings, are my favorite training tools. I also practice Body Flow movements, and do Warrior Wellness mobility drills in the am. This has been very beneficial to my riding, which requires a good degree of dynamic flexibility. I have been stretching for several years, but it didn't seem like I was able to access this range of motion in my riding until now.

I'm looking forward to learning more here, also to getting a pair of heavier Clubbells!

Hello Scott:

Welcome to the CST Forum. It sounds like you are very squared away on what and how you like to train. Hopefully in the near future you can share some of your elite level training ideas with us in the Training Log section.

I would love to hear about how clubs effect your bike training and such. The interrelationships and results of such training would be helpful know how to have.

again Welcome.

Yours.

John H. Myers CST, RKC

I will post my workouts starting in a couple of weeks when I finish my current cycle. Due to time constraints, I will be reducing training volume for a few months while I work to conquer several riding goals, and also spend the time to get a couple of videos edited.

I have been doing a program designed by John Davies for the last six months, involving a wide selection of training modalities. Always experimenting, I have added a few Clubbell drills. (numerous Clubbell exercises are in the program already) My sport is flatland BMX, which involves rolling, spinning, and jumping from one position to another while balanced on one wheel. There is plenty of torque on the wrists in many positions. Wrist casts and drawing circles with the clubbell in order position are a few I utilize to strengthen my wrists. I also do bodyweight drills from gymnastics.

I'll elaborate a bit later when I post my workouts.

Good training!
