To all,

I have jumped back into my biomechanics and, of course, am reaping the benifits. Before stopping 2 years ago, I always had an ache in my right calf when doing Cossack Squats and kinetic chains across the back yard. The pain is akin to that which lingers immediately after experiencing a really strong muscle cramp. Rolling from shin-box to shin-box and other related drills brings it to the surface again. It is located proximal to the outside of the R knee.

Any advice on relieving the issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you very, very much!

In which leg of the Cossack Squat?

Coach Scott

I may be labeling it incorrectly. It might be better for me to say "position one." At least thats what we called it in the Pittsburgh Study Group. Please excuse me if I confused anyone.

Thanks,

Ski,

Can you describe the position, and the pain?

Yes Sir,

the position is squating with back straight and heals off the ground Glutes restin on the heals. What we jarheads would refer to as the "Kim-Chi Squat". The pain is an "ache" not sharp or throbbing. Were it throbbing, I would believe I was cutting off some circulation. The ache stays like muscle soreness, without increasing throught the workout, lessens afterward and comes back at the next session.

Thanks,

Ball of foot Squat, Ski. Cossack Squat is something different. No worries.

Any injuries or preconditions in that area? What's your current training schedule? How long have you been on your current cycle (resulting in this event)?
