Hey everyone,
I am three cycles (3 of 7) into my first double century/double density cycle, and for the last two nights (the mod and high intensity days) I have been waking up at 3:30 am and having much difficulty going back to sleep. I am tired and fall asleep quite easily around 10:30-11:00, but then wake up feeling pretty agitated in the middle of the night. Anyone else experienced this before?

Dave, have you looked at the meridian wheel? 3:30 am is lung meridian. Do you think it could be a signature of overtraining?

Interesting point, Dave. One effect of increased levels of regular physical activity is overall increased fire (upregulated sympathetic nervous tone and ambient stress hormones). The heart is the seat of fire and the lungs drain excess fire from the heart. Some TCM could indeed be the answer.

Tried looking up the meridian wheel, but it was a little vague on what needed work/addressing based on these things. My usual wake-up time is around 2am, so liver time if I am reading it correctly. Any resources with a general overview of what means what? :)

Dave, sometimes things seem to be getting worse before they get better. So it may be just a case of working through it and it will sort itself out.
Good Luck.

Chris: A TCM diagnosis is a pretty involved process. If you're interested, maybe you should look up a practitioner in your area.
