Today I discovered how to Supercharge my motivation and my workout with the power of positive thinking. I call it, “Yes-cercise.”
I was doing my workout, going through my circuit and cranking out reps. After 3-4 sets, I was fatiguing and my mental resolve was starting to wilt. Suddenly, I thought of the writings of motivation guru, Tony Robbins, and pictured Diego Sanchez stalking his way into the cage before a big UFC fight shouting “YES, YES, YES!!”
I started to spontaneously count my reps out loud, “1 YES, 2 YES, 3 YES,” etc. Amazingly, my mental focus and energy levels both took a big jump. Not only did I crush the rest of my workout and banish all thoughts of quitting or slacking on my last couple of sets, but I suffered no fatigue or post-workout let down, and I felt great for the rest of the day.
Maybe the power of positive thinking really works after all.
Keep the momentum rolling forward and keep crushing it!
