I'm starting a new abc cycle using a single set protocol and slightly higher repetitions. Of course each set WILL NOT be done to exhaustion!!! I've built up a nice base over the past few months so now I'm gonna try to push myself a bit harder.

05/27/04

First day of cycle

Side and Front Swings 1x5 (warm-up)

Side CTG 1x15

Front Pendulums 1x12

Front Clean to Flag 1x12

Gama Circles 1x15

Front Squats 1x18

Felt good during this session but pushed a little TOO CLOSE to failure on the squats and side CTG's!!

Mike,

Why so many exercises?

Side CTG 1x15

Front Pendulums 1x12

Front Clean to Flag 1x10

Gama Circles 1x12

Front Squats 1x15

Lowered the reps a bit during this session as fatigue set in earlier than before. I'm trying to avoid getting sucked into any sort of HIT or Heavy Duty type mentality when training with low volume.

Mike,

Why so many exercises?

Do you think I'm over doing it Scott?

What's the goal of your cycle, and what protocol do you intend to employ to get there?

I'm still trying to build up to a Density cycle with the obvious long term goal of hoisting the big boy one handed.

I'm kind of at a loss as far as progression goes. It seemed a lot easier when I was hoisting barbells and dumbells!

If going for Density training, then a smattering of many exercises practiced concurrently will only work against you. Focus on one exercise which you find strength and enjoyment in. Put it in a Density format, and go as far as you can without going to failure. Doing one thing well is better for adaptation and progress than doing several things with mediocrity.

How should I start? Should I use the 100 rep scheme outlined in the ABC manual? What kind of exercises are good for density training? I REALLY like the side CTG and basic CTO's!

Start with the Density design laid out in the ABC manual and begin with the CTO.

Thanks again Scott!!!!
