Feeling a change of pace was needed today from the past three weeks of high volume OCS video submission prep, I dusted off my 40kg, and 2, 32kg Kettlebells and sought out to overcome some previous barriers.

Here's the workout:

40kg Snatch - 10 sets of 2 (new PR - could never before hit a single rep with this monster. Very pleased as I only weigh 70kg myself!)

32kg's Double Clean & Push Press - 5 sets of 5 (new PR!)

32kg Snatch - 2 sets of 10 ( felt light & smooth!)

Having not attempted heavy low rep kettlebell work, or linear based strength work of any kind for the past 3 months, I'm actually NOT surprised by the results!....

I conclude that My recent CST progression has more than physically prepared me:- via a larger range and depth of motion than the events themselves possibly could, increased grip strength & CNS drive, the unison of proper breathing, structure, & movement, as well as through stimulating the physiological profile of the Kettlebell lifts (primarily the hip drive carry-over from high volume 25lb Swipes!).

Hi Lee-
Congrats on the new PRs! Very interesting results.

I'm training for the OCS video submission as well, and I'll test myself on some linear lifts when I finish the cycles in July. I have already found that my one arm chinning strength increased greatly from use of Clubbells.

Good luck with your training!

Nice. I've found that starting with the heavier the weight KB's and CB's allow me to break all sorts of PR's when I go to lower weights. I think it has to do with a neuromotor phenomena called post-tentanic facillitation (the spelling is a little mangled). It's very similar to wave loading.
