I just recently got the best delivery ever: a pair of 10lb Clubbells, the Clubbell Training for CST video, Warrior Wellness and Be-Breathed! I’ve experimented with the Clubbells a bit, and now I need a program to integrate them with BB and WW (which I been doing daily for 2 weeks now).

Stats:
Age: 24
Height: 5’4”
Weight: 145lbs

Background:
I have wrestled in high school & (briefly) in university, although it’s been a while since I have seriously wrestled or been involved in regular sparring. I am in good health and currently do construction work (concrete forming), which I would say gives me moderate exercise during the day. I am in average shape, but would like to really push myself and discover what my body can do – especially after reading Coach Sonnon’s recent results, which make me wonder if there are any limits at all.

Goals:
- increase functional muscle strength and endurance
- increase flexibility, agility
- increase cardio
- “balance” my strength (i.e. increase the strength in my
weaker left arm)

Equipment:
- pair 10lb Clubbells
- Clubbell Training for CST video
- Warrior Wellness series
- Zdorovye – Dvizheniye™ tape
- Be Breathed

I currently have 1 hour to train daily Mon- Sun. Ideally I would like to be able to add WW to this hour to maintain my daily routine, but I’d like to see how things work out first before I can commit unequivocally to additional time.

Coaches, thanks for your time and providing a place like this for me to learn & grow. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Shawn,

Congrats on your decision to train! 8)
Got some questions for you.
What do you see your body doing when you wrote this?

I am in average shape, but would like to really push myself and discover what my body can do
How do want express your Flexibility, and agility?

Please give me as much detail as possible.

What Clubbell exercises have you experimented with?

How did you like them?

When each day would you be training?

Give me a list of any injuries or conditions you have had in the past and how they may be affecting you now if at all.

This should get us started!

Talk to you soon!

Coach Chomycia,

Thanks for the quick reply! I’ll do my best to answer your questions….

What do you see your body doing when you wrote this?

When I re-read that quote a few things come to mind. I see myself swinging Clubbells (maybe eventually work up to OCS) and getting back into sparring and the martial arts once I can get the money. Specifically, a more self-defence or combat oriented system (ideally something like ROSS or Tony Blauer’s TCMS). I also used to rock climb a little bit and I’d like to get back into that. Essentially I’d like to get more active and explore my body.

How do want express your Flexibility, and agility?
I’d like to be able to do some of the more abstract things that are shown in the Dvizheniye tape and Be Breathed. Coach Szolek’s description in a recent thread of mimicking some of the Circe de Soliel (sp?) stuff is pretty inspirational. I also see myself expressing my agility both in sparring/grappling – being able to avoid strikes more easily etc., and (more ground specific) to be able to “flow” around an opponent. Hopefully this makes sense.

What Clubbell exercises have you experimented with? How did you like them?
I’ve tried all the exercises on the Clubbell Training for CST video, except for anything Coach Sonnon classified as advanced. In general, I enjoyed all of them - although I really liked a lot of the presses (torch, forward & lateral leverage) and casts (armpit, wrist, head, etc). I would ideally like to incorporate one exercise that really works the legs and my core (I think they all do that).

When each day would you be training?
Training time during the weekdays would be from 7-8pm. Saturdays and Sundays would be from 2-3pm.

Give me a list of any injuries or conditions you have had in the past and how they may be affecting you now if at all.
I can’t think of any injuries that might really need mentioning. No broken bones, tears, or ruptures. Nothing more than a few pulled muscles I guess.

If there's anything else you need or if something's too vague, just let me know.

Thanks again for your help and have a great weekend! :D

Coach Chomycia,

Sorry for the delay (I've been involved with a friend's wedding)...Anyway, I read Coach Sonnon's post (I don't think I've ever done my work that fast before!) Everything's cool....it'll just take me a couple days to track down someone with a digital camera or scanner. Until then I guess I just have to be patient!
