View Full Version : A nervous introduction.

Hello,
I have been reading through the forum for a few days now, always wanting to post but feeling oddly nervous about it so I have not. As I signed on today there was a message from Coach Sonnon exclaiming that I should intorduce myself before continuing further. With this gentle nudge, here I am.

I do not have an extensive athletic background just some dabbling, many years ago, in Martial Arts, Boxing and weight training. What I do have is a body in need of rehabilitation. When I was younger and had the wellness to train, I didn't have the mind for it. Perhaps I have the mind for it now but not the body.

Currently I am working with the Beginner's Program from Warrior Wellness. Once I can get through this without my joints clunking and without the localized muscle burning I will delve deeper into the wealth of what Coach Sonnon has to offer. There is a strong desire to swing Clubbells and unlock Fear-Reactivity but Kinetic Chains are beyond my scope at the moment.

I am intrigued by the possibilties and with this have some hope that I can be smooth and painfree once again.

Having "the Mind for it" is the key. Warrior Wellness will lead you seamlessly to unlocking movements. Relax and enjoy.

Thanks Bill. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, my mind is like a monkey at the moment, flitting from branch to branch but I am sure participating in Warrior Wellness will give it firm anchor.

Welcome, Niko.

This is a friendly corner of the net.

If you can do your 10-20 minutes of basic WW every day, you will have demonstrated that you are capable of achieving just about any physical goal.

It's very tempting to just keep trying different things, jumping around half-mindedly. And make no mistake, there is value in this.

But at this time, just getting back into movement and exercise, focus is key. Stick to the WW, I guarantee you will not regret it. You will reap far more benes from dedicated practice of that program than you can currently expect.

As you feel up for it, slowly add other types of training, and I do mean slowly. There is no rush.

You aren't kidding when you say this is the friendly corner of the net. The acceptance is greatly appreciated.

I do have a question though. Is it normal for the joints to ache a bit following Warrior Wellness? Immediately after I do the exercises I feel wonderful, but the ache sets in somewhat later.

Nick, it is a common phenomenon from people returning or entering fitness with Warrior Wellness. When one releases tension and compression through the program, one feels energized and focused. However, in the early stages of development, sometime after the program, conditioned patterns of tension "creep" back. This creep-effect fades over time (eventually never to return) and can be abated through slow and smooth ROM exercise from WW in the local area. You can intuit the time to advance on your training when the creep-effect desists. (High stress living or occupational demands can illicit this as well.)
