Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the breathing exercises at the end of Intu-Flow are for? i.e. breathing squat, quad hop, lateral arm waves.

The short answer is to prime your energetic field. Learning to exhale throughout your structure deepens your movement potential. Internal martial arts cultivate this energetic charging to amplify intent and execution of movement. Movement sophistication and energetic amplification is what builds vitality.

I guess I'm asking why have these exercises at the end specifically, since you need to breathe throughout the joint mobility session anyway.

I sometimes start at the the beginning of the session, or even stand alone breathing drills. It really depends on your goal sets and what you're preparing for recovering from.

Thanks for your responses Joseph.

What I mean though is not 'why do the example breathing exercises at the end or the beginning' but rather why there are specific breathing drills when a similar breathing pattern occurs naturally with shoulder rolls and the arm waves during the intu-flow program.

I'm still doing the beginner level so I'm not sure if this applies to the more advanced levels.
