Hi all,

I'm currently researching Clubbells, and really hope that they're the training answer that I've been looking for. (I haven't yet purchased a clubbell, as the budget is tight, and I want to be sure that Clubbells are for me before I purchase...!)

I have a background in weight training, and want a conditioning tool for my sport, Japanese Jujitsu. Specifically, what I need is a stronger grip, stronger punching, as well as quad and upper body development for throws.

(I'd also love to know if there's anyone in NYC doing clubbells or teaching a class so that I can test the waters that way!)

Cheers and greetings,

Janet

Hello Janet:

Please allow me to welcome you to the CST Forum.

I think you will find that Clubbells, and this forum, and the many ideas posted here will quickly and powerfully take your Trad art to the next level, and ways you never expected too. Clubbells are a must have for you Janet, you will benefit greatly from them in your chosen combat art of Ju Jitsu.

Also, I am a CST and RKC instructor living in Lancaster PA. If you need to get a bearing on Map Quest for Travel, just use the center of Lancaster, King Street. I am not far from it. There might be a CST closer to you, so check the instructor listing to see.

Welcome aboard, let us know if we can help you in any way.

Yours

John H. Myers, CST, RKC

Janet,

Specifically, what I need is a stronger grip, stronger punching, as well as quad and upper body development for throws.

You need to get the clubbells. They were specifically designed for your sport. I use them to build my grip and strengthen my shoulders in all planes of movement. The hip snap used for basic swings is great for developing punching power. If you want quad development do full squat in every movement. You'll thank me for this later.

I hope this post has helped you in some way as I welcome you to the Knuckledragger Tribe.

Welcome to the Tribe, Janet! Check out my article at Clubbell.tv with THE CODE Magazine (http://www.clubbell.tv/clubbellcode.html) - it describes how the grappling arts were the impetus for creating Clubbells!

Janet,

Welcome to the tribe. I am glad to see more New Yorkers here on the forum. I hope to read more about your work. By the way, I teach CST and developing a small Rmax group as well.

Yours in CST,
Bao
