Do whatever you want as long as you focus on an RPD of 5 or lower, RPT of 8 or higher and RPE of 6 or lower.

Yes and no, Heather. We tend to be blind to emotional issues hidden by tension because we don't want the pain, but we also have an internal compass which is hard-wired to signal us to the right direction to resolve the problem.

I'm really fighting this, and I don't know why. I can't seem to get myself to do the 5 minutes after each meal. Could be related to the stress in the rest of my life right now. Will think about this, this week, see if I can talk myself through it and just "be", like I do in the other areas of my life.

 Random thoughts. Was thinking about what is giving me the most joy in my exercise and it's always when I'm outside. Doing circles in the bathroom feels like a compromise, and slightly icky, like I'm hiding. I know when I get to step 2 and move to 3 10 minute sessions of WW I'll have to do something at work, and I'll have to do it in the bathroom or in my office with the door closed, to remain professional... but for now I want to be outside where I can feel the sun.
In other words, doing circles in the bathroom feels like work, and running or walking outside feels like joy. I'm not ready to do circles in public outside... but what I can do is make sure I do more movement in the outdoors, more walks, or jogs, when my schedule permits. And my morning and afternoon post-meal movement can totally be done outside on my deck. Don't care if my neighbors think I'm wacko, just my coworkers.
I also said I was solar power, I should've listened to my own wise words :P

Sensations:
Feelings:
Images:
Thoughts: I always take my eyes off the ball. Yestereday during badminton I did the same thing with the birdie. It feels like a hold over, or resistence to staying in the moment. Had this when doing organized aerobics, like step aerobics, I was always falling off the step. This is expected in running, might be why I'm so attached to that. I think it's good for me to get out there and practice staying in the moment while playing tennis. Especially before I handle clubbells!

Images:
Thoughts: Muscles used in sprinting across the courts are very sore. Maybe should work in some speed farlicks in running to regain that balance. Love doing those anyways, it'd be a nice change.

And the therapeutic benefits are a great bonus!

I haven't been posting my logs for a few reasons, first I took a little break from WW, don't know why, but my heart wasnt' in it and I just couldn't go through the motions. Second, things were getting really personal and I wasn't comfortable posting everything I was feeling, and I wasn't comfortable posting only a half story. Maybe the feelings got too big and that's why I stopped :).
Anyways, I've been doing WW semi-regularly for a few weeks now and I feel a release and a freedom starting it up. So here I am, posting again.
Date: 9/6/04
Time: 11:00AM
Place: Treadmill at home
Energy Level: 7
Exercise Selection: 3 mile jog, 12 min mile pace
Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE): 5
Rate of Technique (RT): 6--had to remember to stop running belly out, relaxing running posture a bit too much. Happens when I run slowly like this.
Rate of Perceived Discomfort (RPD): 0
Sensations: Legs feel strong and capable
Feelings: A big ole yippee to be moving
Date: 9/6/04
Time: 8:00PM
Place: living room, with hubby
Energy Level: 7
Exercise Selection: WW begining tape
Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE): 2
Rate of Technique (RT): 7, I am feeling so fluid these days!
Rate of Perceived Discomfort (RPD): 2--right hip during leg swings
Sensations: Warm and alive. Feeling connected, and sensing the connections in my body, it's almost like I can picture my body as one of those plastic figures with muscles and connective tissues in biology class.
Feelings: grateful. Always feeling grateful when I do these exercises
Questions: When I'm doing the WW tape and I feel a joint that is gravely but just about to release am I doing any harm by continuing on with a particular exercise to release it, even if I go over the 5 or 10 reps done on the video?
Watched the new Clubbell DVD last night just to see what's coming. Awesome!!

Heather,
Welcome back!
If you're not going over a discomfort level of 5, then mobility only helps.
