I have never seen or touched a clubbell. All I know about them comes from the few things I've seen at the FISH website. But I know in my bones that this is what I want and need to do.
What I don't know is:
1. What weight should I start with? I assume 10 lber for an adult male, good health, non-weightlifter.
2. Do I start with one or a pair?
3. What one, two or three books are must reads before I start?
4. How long before I might go up to the next weight?
5. Is there a use for 5 lbers even if I am starting with 10 lbers?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Howdy Bruce. Quick answers to your questions (not the most authoritative available here though):

1) 10s are good. You may well want 15s in two months, but for some exercises they may be too heavy especially at first. If you're closer to 200# and muscled accordingly, 15s might be a good starting point.

2) Pairs are good. Slight discount buying 2. Lot of good core strength and peripheral coordination drills you can do with 2. Lot you can do with 1 also.

3) WW (video). Clubbell Training for Circular Strength (book or video or both). Body-Flow (optional if you're only doing strength).

4) Some exercises, right away. Some, 2 months. You'll still use the lighter ones

5) 5s are similar to choked 10s. If you're strength training and already pretty sturdy you can do without 5s.

The more you learn about the principles behind CST/Clubbells, the more productive your training can be.
