Hi Everyone,

I have made some interesting progress just recently on Warrior Wellness™.

I had a really big "clunk" the other night in my neck that seemed to release rather alot of tension in my trapezius muscles. It felt like one pair of vertebrae were sliding across each other and grinding a little as I moved my neck. It didn't hurt, it just felt weird and a little scary.

Is this ok or should I do something about it? My neck feels fine today but you really can't be too careful with spinal stuff IMHO.

Since this happened I have been able to do the Egyptian. (I couldn't do it at all before) Not well mind you, but I can do it. Testing this morning as I type, I can still do it.

Also-

I seem to be getting deeper on the 4 corner balance drill. My body seems to want to squat lower rather than lifting the leg higher to increase the difficulty which taxes the balance alot more and my flexibilty a little more.

I can only assume that because this is a balance drill I should concentrate on the squat. It is however being done within the context of a wellness workout so working on static active flexibility to release tension my hips is likely a good thing. On the other hand, static active flexibility is not really required in my chosen activities. Joint mobility and dynamic flexibilty are but static active certainly isn't.

Some guidance would be most appreciated, thanks.

Also-
When I raise my leg in the 45 degree phase of the exercise I get a horrible cramp in my upper, inner quariceps musculature. Currently I am doing the exercise at a level just below where the muscle is likely to cramp and am trying to relax through it.

I have been incorporating some gentle stretching of the area using the pose from Yoga where you lunge out with one foot, bend the body backwards and join the hands above the head which I seem to remember my Yoga teacher calling "The Warrior Pose".

My questions are whether anyone can suggest anything to help me and whether what I am doing already is a good strategy for me. It certainly feels better if I sit in the warrior pose for a bit before doing the four corner drill.
Thanks for any replies,
Cheers,
Stu.
