Hi Everybody,

I was BodyFlowing around my floor the other morning and I started playing a game.

I would pick a destination, then try to get there in the most efficient "BodyFlowing" manner.

Could that be a contest? Have competitors run through different obstacles
like slopes, narrow passages, over objects for time and best form, breathing and structure?

Just a thought. It is fun in my garage anyway

Thanks for taking a look.
Sincerly,

James,
That sounds like a neat way to implement the real world into body flow training. What kind of obstacles would you have? Can you come up with an example?

Jim

Sounds great James. I've done something like that, go from one part of the living room to say, put a different CD in the player, using only circular motion, a series of tumbles and rolls. We all get plenty of practice moving linearly and reciprocally.

Sounds like the makings of a good article!

Hi Jim,
I was think of slopes and narrow ramps. I also thought about different degrees of friction on the surface. Have some smooth parts and some areas that have a lot of friction.

Another idea I had was to use those stones for accupressure. Maybe that's a little severe though

Basically, cones and ropes to block off areas. Also have portions taht are so low you have to roll under them.

Different BME could be rated for difficulty, have minimums that need to be performed, then extra points for really nice kinetic chains.

Just a thought,
Thanks for the reply,
James Linn

Hi Rick,
I live in Taiwan now, but I'm from Austin. Texas born and bred [YEEEEHAAAAA]

That is similar to what I was doing. I was just really getting into lateral rolls and spinal rock/lateral rolls.

I was marvelling at the fact that lateral rolls leave you facing the same way, but spinal rock/lateral rolls end up facing he opposite direction.

Ok, ok, I'm easily amused

I was rolling and rolling and I started trying to end up at a certain destination. Next thing I new an hour had passed.

I felt great!

Thanks for the reply Rick,
James Linn
ps

Zackly James! Hence the CD player as destination, and where my arm was in the right position to reach the tray conveniently, whatever sequence of rolls and tumbles that took (without knocking stuff over of course).

How's the food there? Can you get meat & potatoes type stuff? I may be joining you, there hasn't been any tech work here for 2 years.

Hawhawhaw, "LOOP"! That's an inside joke for yawl who haven't been here, Austin optimistically names roads "loop" but has never finished one.

Get back for visits now and then James?

You can most of the American foods. BUT.... No Tex-Mex!!! :x
I'm dying. I thought Austin was a hotbed for tech stuff?

Haven't been home in 5 years! It's no bad though, my wife is Taiwanese
and I speak Mandarin fluently. My three kids all have dual citizenship and are all bilingual. Life is good.

Keep in touch Rick, always good to know another Austinite is on board.

Glad you're here too James. :D

No TexMex? Could this be an opportunity?

Tech crashed here early in 2001, print job ads dropping from 5 pages to one column, and staying there. Lone Star Restaurant closed, nearest good chicken-fry is now in Oklahoma City.

Glad you've got a place you like. Me, I'm shopping. Holler next time you're back, I might still be around.
