I've written a new article for beginners and posted it on my site.

If you or someone you know is a little overwhelmed by the volume of material on Clubbells and Circular Strength Training, have them check it out. The article covers the main CST products and suggests related articles for reading.

Getting Started with CST: A Beginner's Guide to the Products and Information You Really Need (http://flyservers.registerfly.com/members5/clubbelltrainer.com//cbtsuggestions.html)

Enjoy!

The original Beginner's Guide article was very warmly received. Now I'd like to know what you folks think would be helpful to know about when getting started.

You newbies, what challenges you have run into regarding getting started?

Those of you with some experience, what would have made the process of getting started easier?

Feel free to add what you think is important for CST newcomers to know about.

In addition to CST products and practices, please include your questions and comments on how to make the best, most efficient use of the CST forums.

Definitely, not to get ahead of yourself. It is very easy for this to happen when you see all the great KnuckleDraggers here posting clips of their progress. Newbies (like me) need to accept the fact that we need a strong foundation of GPP to progress appropriately.

Getting started without a Coach to evaluate form and chart progress is hard. So you have to be your own Coach and rely on the wonderful people on the forum to help guide you, along with RMAX's vast book and video collection. If you cannot find a partner or friend who either shares your interests or has nothing else to do at the time but watch your form...perform the Clubbell exercises unloaded at first. Find the best instructions you can get (CT4CST) and follow them exactly. I like to do this using maximal tension throughout the movement, like imagining using a great weight, to get the feel of the exercise. Then attempt the exercise loaded.

As far as training scheme goes. Well, I trust my past experience and common sense. Also, as Coach Sonnon advices, baby steps. If you are coming off a layoff of weighted exercises or exercise in general, slowly upping your training is best. Unless, you are head strong like me and dive right in with "Superman" syndrome thinking you can handle it.

Basically, take my advice for what it is worth, but the best recommendation I can give is to get your hands on Coach Sonnon's Clubbell training book and/or video/dvd.

JasonE, I think it is awesome what you are doing and the direction you are going. Keep working hard and giving newbies like me inspiration.

Regards,

Jason B.
