Why is it that one can DESTROY ones grip when training and more often, than say whole body workouts taken to faliure?
The hands are made to worked more I guess?

The following is primarily speculation but evidence supports it.
Perhaps it is because the grip is a relatively small portion of the body therefore less resources are required for it's recovery.
Also, becuase the hands have the greatest allocation of grey matter perhaps their faculties of recovery are that much more efficient.
And then comes the issue of differing muscle fibers, of which the bodybuilding community generally feels that forearms, calves/lowerlegs, and abdominals are all different than the other prime movers (pecs, traps, quads, etc.) and that this difference dictates the forearms, abs, and calves as "endurance" muscles. But on this I need to do more reading.

A vast amount of research indicates that forearms in most humans are composed primarilyof slow twitch fibers, which have high endurance capabilities and recover quickly.
Is this true? Maybe so, maybe not.
thank you
