Hey guys, my name is Joe Silvia, I'm a 32 year old (will be an ancient 33 in two days) and from Fairhaven, MA. I am "Ausgepicht" from the MMA forum. I have been working with Scott's material for a few years now. I have been in combat sport for approx. 17 years and Scott's stuff has put new fire into something that was beginning to get old.
I have a small gym of my own with a few guys and we do primarily MMA training and include Criminal Event Scenarios as well. Everything from AirSoft to Stick and Knife stuff.
Even with this varied approach, Scott's material has something to offer when the plateaus come around biting. It's an oasis of ideas, hints, help, and suggestions. A perfect compliment to what we are doing.
My health and fitness levels (as well as technical acuity) have shot through the roof with Scott's help. I honestly can't (and don't want to) imagine training w/o his material!!!
Scott is also responsible for one of the greater joys in my life this past year and a half: dinosaur training. I would not have known about Sandbags, Kettlebells, Clubbells, etc. if it weren't for Scott's suggestions. I haven't touched an old school weight in many months and am overjoyed and my interest in training increases (I was getting SERIOUSLY burnt out).
I am overjoyed that this forum was created and look forward to the monthly updates on the mag. I read every darn letter! I am looking forward to making some new friends here and learning as much as I can from you guys.
All the best,
Joe
