I have a question regarding swipes. In Sonnon's dvd he describes the swipe as a snatch plus a arm cast plus a basic arm swing, in your OCS manual you describe it as a basic swing plus an arm cast and then in your C4 book you describe it as a forward pendulum plus an arm cast.
Could you please point me in the right direction as to the correct execution of this technique?

Best,
Corey

Corey,

The first time that you're coming out of floor park you snatch or clean it to back position to begin the Swipe. The Swipe is then what I say it is in both the DVD and in OCS: Arm Cast + Basic Swing. Viewing the Swipe as an Arm Cast + Forward Pendulum is the way to understand the Performance vs. the Technical Swipe.

Coach Sonnon,

One last question, do you bring the clubbells to the torch postion before proceeding to the back position or do you start to bend your elbows to bring the Clubbell to back postion once the Clubbells pass your waist in the Swing?

Corey

Corey,

In the Swipe, you do not go to Torch Position. On the upswing, contract your elbows and push the Clubbell into Back Position.
