Hello, knuckledraggers!! 8)

My name is Adam LaClair. I currently reside in north-eastern Vermont, although I am SERIOUSLY considering relocating to San Diego in the near future (I love that city, and especially the weather!)

I have been training in various martial arts for about 11 years now - Karate, Kenpo, Jujitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, limited boxing, mixed martial arts. I run a school out of a study on the end of my house. I have had numerous injuries over the years, so I find myself in the role of the "coach" more than the "coachED" most of the time. Not always a good thing, though - I have students whom I can no longer beat. Grappling is my favorite sport to engage in (right next to Chess), and I have had quite a few students who have competed and placed in various tournaments now. A few have even ventured into the MMA ring.

I've done a lot of strength training in the past. I always had good "shape" to my physique, but wasn't very athletic minded while growing up. Ran track and cross country all through high school. Always wished I was "bigger" - I graduated at 140 pounds with my boots on. Took up weight lifting in my 20s with little result. Tried out the "Power Factor" method by John Little in my mid-twenties (but used his formulas with mostly full-range reps, rather than partials) and grew like a weed! Going by the "numbers" really worked well for me, as I put on 10-15 pounds of solid muscle each winter, for 3 consecutive winters. Got up to about 195 pounds and felt pretty good. Blew my ACL in a BJJ tourney against a goliath, though, and it's been physically all downhill since then. I'm nearly 34, and trying to put my broken-and-patched body (total of 6 operations in 7 years) back into a state of near-normalcy.

I've trained extensively with Tony Blauer, being a part of the PDR team from the inaugural session on. I also train under Roy Harris (BJJ, certififed grappling instructor) as well. I've explored into the world of ROSS on ocassion, and firmly believe that CST is going to be the pillar of my S&C training for the rest of my life!

I'm looking forward to actually meeting Scott in the future. I hope to meet, discuss, and learn a great many things through this forum and live training, with many of you!

Adam

Quite an intro Adam! Welcome to the Forum!

Have a look around and let us know what you need to get that patchwork of injuries molded back together into a coordinated unit. I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes along the way,
