Hi, i'm really intrigued by the trinity breathing exercise shown on the maximology tape set and was wondering about the science behind it.

It seems so much like a chikung movement but obviousley their is no concentration on any internal circulating energy.

From having quite a few rmax tapes I know the main emphasise is on integration of movement, breath and alignment.

This is probably a stupid question, but how does that help?

It seems to me that if they are integrated then their should in theory be optimal breath control during work and rest.

What does this translate to? I'd say enhanced oxygen levels in the bloodstream.

Would it be true to say that enhanced o2 levels in the bloodstream leads to enhanced levels of o2 passing the blood-brain barrier and subsequently better functioning of the unconscious nervous system processes, which translates to better functionaing of the whole body overall as an organism.

I'm fascinated by all the bodily functions and processes and how they all interweave together.

I feel we all have so much potential that lies dormant within. Coach Sonnons material gives us the key to unlock the door of our physical potential and according to Eastern thought, mind and body are intimately connected thus both influence one another.

I've been doing a lot of meditation recently and have seen some amazing visions and understood certain metaphysical concepts to level of which I call truth. I believe that just as with the body them mind has an unlimited potential with all these dormant neural circuits lying around, just look at autistic savants who's brain operate using different circuits.

I'm really getting off topic here, sorry!!

Thats it, I was talking about the trinity breathing exercise. I think I just worked something that should have been obvious. Does enhancing proprioception mean you enhance the unconscious ability of maintaining the intergration of structure, movement and breathing?

Sorry to go on, thanks!!

At an elementary level (in my opinion) the Trinity Breathing Drills focus on teaching the maintenance of proper structural alignment while synchronising movement with respiration. How does this help? Again in my opinion, by increasing efficiency of movement to seamlessly transition through positions (apologies, it's a limiting term in this context) without tension and its intrinsically linked stop-start patterns.
How does this help? Well aside from the carryover to day to day quality of pain-free movement, lets for purposes of discussion look at combatative application, through increases in efficiency the practitioner is able to focus on progression of intensity and work, looking at the end-result (read: effectiveness)
Staying with the example of martial art, we can see how practice in one are (efficency) can predicate gains in another (effectiveness)
IMO (again) it's all about integration: the 3DPP.

Thanks for that.

So I think the gist of what you are saying is that if the movement, breath and alignment are intergrated at an unconscious level then your mind if free to focus on the other attributes thus enhancing perforfmance.

That's cool,thanks, peace, Ed
