For the last month and a half, I have had bouts of recurring bronchitis. Can any one recommend some natural/non-trditional rememdies I can try (along with the prescribe medication from the doctor)?
One positive note: The doctor and nurses are continually suprised that my lung capacity is as much as it is, given the bronchitis. They give me that test where you blow in the cardbard tube and I still get the marker almost to the end. I guess the purchase of the Dykhaniye tape was a wise one... :)
Thanks,
Travis

I suffer from Chronic Bronchitis and had to go to the ER many times as a kid. At 18 my kung fu Sifu had me start doing a few breathing exercises religiously in all my training and doing some incremental cardio style training to work my way past it the attacks. I haven't had an attack since I was 21.
What I started with, before moving on to something similar to natural breathing, was to always breath through my nose when I worked out. This brought me in in less air during physical activity and forced my body to adapt.
I don't know if that is a remedy or if I would even recommend that but strengthening my lungs and immune system has certainly helped me.
Of course, I'm not a doctor, and I don't really know your details.

Travis,
I had trouble with this for a couple years. if you haven't already, before starting any therapies, I would check your immediate environment. is there anything in it that could be aggravating your lungs. In my case, two different places I lived had iffy air quality. One was a very old house with forced air heating when i first started having problems. The 2nd was a basement apartment without enough ventilation, that i found out later had flooded and had been moldy (and probably not all removed). third, i found mold growing on the underside of my mattress once in that process, and tossed that.
I tried one of the air filter/purifier things, and i tried many natural remedies, but removing the source of infection was the primary thing.

Mine was mold and cats, that's what set me off. Now I have two cats and live in a different state and I'm fine.

I just checked back in this forum and saw the responses. Thank you for the feedback.
I have been practically illness free for about a year. I can't really pinpoint the solution, but have not had any respiratory issues since that time.
Injury free is another story, but Warrior Wellness has helped to rehab all of aches and pains that come with getting another year older.
