Greetings from Hawaii!
My name is Wayne Fisher but I go either by "Fish" (in normal life) or "SCRAPPER" on the Internet.
I was a Navy Diver for 10 years and spent the last 4 years of my enlistment working with the SEAL Team out here in Hawaii. In 1996 I attended and graduated the SEAL Hand to Hand Combat Instructor Course, fought and won FutureBrawl 6 (8 man no-holds-barred competition and pre-cursor to today's Superbrawls) and started training with world Jiu Jitsu champion Egan Inoue. It was a busy year!
In 1999 I wrote the first of 3 bodyweight routines and posted it on what was then submissionfighting.com. I was also fortunate to meet Scott Sonnon when he first started posting on the Strength and Conditioning forum and consider him a true friend and mentor. Earlier this year I was able to attend one of Scott's seminars and found the information invaluable to my own training.
In 2000 I released the SCRAPPER BODYWEIGHT CONDITIONING VOLUME 1 two-tape set. It became really popular and I released the SCRAPPER BODYWEIGHT CONDITIONING MOD. 1 earlier this year. It's become even more popular than the original tapes and I'll be using a similar format for further releases.
I became interested in Clubbells as soon as Scott released them and have utilized them not only in my own training, but have worked with Holly Rustick (2003 Ms. Fitness Hawaii AND my girlfriend, ha!) as well as Egan Inoue and the rest of the fighters at his gym, Grappling Unlimited. I wrote about Egan's recent training exploits using Clubbells in the latest issue of Circular Strength Training: http://www.circularstrengthmag.com/18/scrapper1.html
I plan to continue training hard and writing articles about my experiences with Clubbells and other training methods.
Train hard,
SCRAPPER
