Actually I'm a few weeks behind on writing this, but it was a busy holiday season. Anyway, I've now spent one full year, slowly and methodically working my way through the Warrior Wellness program. As I've stated before in the first three posts, the results have been well worth the time and effort, and at this point I've easily recovered the original purchase price of the tapes in money saved by NOT buying so much Advil  .
I just finished up (if that's the right way to phrase it) the WW Advanced Tape a couple of weeks ago. The only problem I encountered was with the 4CBD version on the tape. It actually seemed to irritate my lower back. While the WW program overall has done wonders for my existing lower back problems, I think the simple fact is that 3 herniated discs will remain as 3 herniated discs. Once I realized that the 4CBD from the Advanced tape was not a good idea, I simply substituted the Intermediate version, and the problem resolved itself quickly.
As I stated when I posted my first progress report, the point of my doing the WW progarm was simply to get a handle on my back problems so that I could get back to doing the everyday things were starting to slip away from me. Yardwork, hiking, my Self-Defense classes, etc. The bottom line is that WW worked way beyond my expectations. As I mentioned in another post over the summer, I was able to go whitewater rafting for the first time in several years, confident in the fact that my back wouldn't "go out" halfway down the river.
Another thing I've taken away from the program is increased patience. On several occasions, I considered jumping ahead on the progarm, but instead I held back until I felt that I really had a handle on all the BME's in each indiviual phase. Over the years I can't tell you how many times i've hurt myself while working out by adding too much weight, or too many reps, too soon. with the inevitable result of actually losing ground while waiting to heal up and recover from my impatience and stupidity.
I've actually been able to take that lesson away from the program and carry it over to other parts of my day to day life.
Right now I'm still tinkering with a combined version of the 3 phases of the program that I can use on an ongoing basis. It's primarily the Intermediate program with several BME's from the Beinners and Advanced phases. It takes between 15-20 minutes, and I do it right up front before I do the rest of my workout.
I was thinking about finally getting around to the Mobilized strength program, but you guys at RMAX through me a curve. I checked my email the other day and saw the sale price on the Be Breathed DVD and said to myself, How can I pass this up?
So, I'm going to order that, and work on it on my off days between my regular wokouts. Don't worry Coach Chomycia, I'll get to the MS program. Like I said, patience is another one of the pluses I took away from Warrior Wellness.
Thank you again Coach Sonnon!
