Hello Coach Sonnon,

This is truly a pleasure for me to introduce myself to you. I hope you
will consider me a friend and affiliate of your teaching methods. My name
is Susan Himsel, CFT, RKC, SS&C, and YFT. CSTI will be added to my resume next year. I have had the pleasure of working w/ a pair of 5# clubbell's recently and fully enjoy the many benefits.

My company, BallisticStrength.com will soon offer online training using
protocols of Kettlebell and Clubbell training. Standard bodybuilding
exercises will also be offered. Target clients will include young athletes in
sports as well as females. Ballistic Strength is listed as an Affiliate
with RMax.tv and I would be honored if you would review the website. Please note I am a novice and am still learning many things about website and copywriting; in addition to the exercises themselves! However I am open to constructive criticism.

I do have one question relating to clubbell training and hope this is an
appropriate forum. Please give me some SPP for baseball training with
clubbell exercises. Would you please include skills that should not be
mimicked for same. I understand the basic notion of not swinging
the clubbell as if it were a bat. I am looking for additional exercises, if
there are any that should be avoided. I do have the book and have
skimmed most of it and the video. Tomorrow, I meet with '86 World Champion Homerun hitter, Jessie Barfield, about training some of his young athletes in Houston. If there is anything you can impart, I am open to hearing from you.

My journey in fitness has taken a new twist of enlightenment since
discovering you and Pavel. Sincere Thanks!

Respectfully,

Susan Himsel

Welcome to the Tribe, Susan! It's a pleasure to have you among us. For baseball, select Armpit Casts, Shoulder Casts and Shield Casts under the Tight-Loose-Tight Grip Protocol and Yield-Halt-Overcome Protocol. Focus on Performance Breathing to lock down the core and explode out of Back Position in order to augment the early power generation for both throwing and swinging. Then in the Control Pause complete the swing phase of each exercise. Teach the Selective Tension techniques (keep non-essential musculature relaxed for skill performance). Keep reps low and pre-fatigue. Practice the groove and remember to not over-grip.

Good luck with your client. Report back with your results. I look forward to reading your insights and discoveries, as well as meeting you at the CST Certification Course.

[Edited Typo to change Head to Shoulder Casts.]

Thanks Coach,

I will show him these exercises. Do you suggest any articles to reference?
I will follow-up with his feedback.

Sincere appreciation for your time.

Check out Charles Slavik, NSCA-CPT, ISSA-YFT President, Eagle Baseball Club, LLC (http://www.eaglebaseballclub.com/) Tampa Bay's Finest Baseball & Softball Training. He says,
"We love the Clubbells for baseball training for both pitchers and hitters. I have the Clubbell Training for Circular Strength book, video and the 5 and 10 pound size clubbells. The exercise program works well for developing grip strength and rotational power both of which are vital for baseball players."
