This looks good, I'm interested!
Dennis
in the dark what is this dvd going to be about.
Wow, looks amazing!
Would it be to much to ask to know about this new medical research?
I don't mind waiting, so it's cool.
Can't wait!!

Great, cannot wait. Wondering? Coach, are you ever going to run out of idea's ? hahha..hope not

With all of the new folks spearheading different directions, my time and energies are rather freed to pursue purely R&D, so no, I doubt I'll run out of ideas. Ideas are like the fire in one's veins... and following each idea like a new adventure at the amusement park of one's life.
It's ready: INTEGRATING STRUCTURE (HTTP://WWW.rmax.tv/softwork.html)

Psyched and Stoked and watching the mailbox!!!

Coach, could you tell me who would benefit from this new dvd?
Is it softwork based or is it also a new research based exploratory health system concepts?
I can't seem to find tensegrity in the dictionary, is it an american word?
I'm interested but I don't understand exactly the full picture yet.
Cheers.

Ed,
Here's a post by Randell which may help you:
You may find we approach new material, working at Instructor and higher levels a bit uniquely here. Hopefully I can explain a little. You should always find RMAX material is based upon established, scientific research, as well as the research and development Scott (and his team) have done on himself (themselves) in practical applications, and with the thousands of clients he (they) have worked. We actively encourage exploration in all of our people, and encourage healthy, constructive debate. As we explore sometimes, whoever is leading that particular discussion may pose both specific, and sometimes seemingly non-specific questions, to lead one further along the way.
Scott appears to have already welcomed you up into such a dynamic - welcome !!!
Perhaps I can seed some ideas here to support you in your research.
I think you should find some the following useful in investigating the Tensegrity concept:

Included is a wide range of entry points, some basic and others much more complicated.

Thanks coach, I went to the first link and I understand it now.
I'm guessing that is what the standing like a tree style of chikung is based on, practising proper tensegrity form allowing for optimal bio-function in all aspects of biology.
Looking at the model and reading about the concept, i've gotta say, offtopic, that there has gotta be some kind of intelligence behind evolution, it can't be blind random genetic mutation, something from nothing.
Anyway, thanks again, i'm ordering the dvd 8)
Peace.

Ed,
I actually disagree about your standing chi kung comparison. I don't believe a motionless activity (despite whatever is claimed of the "internal motions") can "change" a structure into a tensegrity structure. Our body already is a tensegrity structure.
Tensegrity as introduced by Buckminster Fuller, concerns the incredible stability under varying stresses of a structure with specific tensions.
An example is his dome structure "Bucky". http://www.bfi.org/domes/
A molecule was named after him, the Buckminsterfullerine or "bucky balls" http://www.udel.edu/fth/java/MoleculeViewer/bucky.html ,because its structure so resembled what he was talking about.
Anatomists/Body work researchers then discovered that our bodies inherent stabilities could be explained by the tensegrity models. This insight is much more sophisticated than the traditional bone/joint kinesiology model.
The first time I heard of this in the manual therapy world, was in a Strain-Counterstrain book I had purchased some years ago. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0815100965
It was alluded to by an instructor of mine later (His eyes were literally beaming when he was talking about it. Seriously) I don't think alot of us really understood what he was talking about.
Thomas Meyer's Anatomy Trains is a great resource that really helped me get ahold of it.
Coach Sonnon's lecture that first night of Softwork was the first time I have ever heard of a martial arts application to the work. Interesting to say the least! It set the tone for an eye-opening weekend.
Jarlo, what I meant was that by standing in the correct balanced way for long periods the bodys systems would have an easier time operating and regulating etc.
I'll read over the other links as I probably don't understand it.
Cheers.

Ed,
The argument could easily be presented stating that the body operates and regulates more efficiently through movement.
Oops, I get it, tell you what i'll get to this in the morning, my brain is tired, been talking to a friend all night showing him the net etc.
I should understand in the morning
Cheers.
