I'm looking to get some information/advice about books regarding training for a long running event or marathon. I've done all of the Amazon and bookstore searches and just can't decide on a book. I feel that I've made a lot of progress working on my form, but I'm totally clueless when it comes to recommended training regimens and mileage for a longer run.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Josh,

"The Runner's Handbook" by Bob Glover and Jack Sheperd is a really good book to get you up and running.

Take care,
Chris

Thanks, Chris. I'm wondering if the "up and running" pun was intentional... :D

I really enjoyed "Slow Burn" by Stu Mittleman

I ordered The Runner's Handbook, and put Slow Burn on my wishlist. Thanks for the advice, folks.
