After injuring my back on Wed in a friendly  compatition, my hips were completely locked and I could barely walk or even sleep for that matter. So thursday morning I was up early to put W.Wellness to the test crawled out of bed completely locked from head to toe and started my ankle circles than to knee holding on to something for ballance. My hips didnt want to move so went up to neck and worked down to shoulders, elbows, wrist, & fingers than it happened BAM things started to let go (something about finger circles really opens everything up for me).So I started in on my upper torso, hips and lower dack and by the end I was virtualy pain free still felt a little tension but pain free. I know what W.W. does for a healthy strong body because I do it at least 5 to 6 times a week but what I experienced on Thurs was simply amazing. Fri got a dose of W.W. as well as a little B.B. The same on Sat and by Sun I was running hill sprints. W.W. passed a huge test for me I am a lifer.

Awesome, Ray! Nice testimonial, my friend.

How about a little friendly competition? We could Rochambeau to see who buys the other a Bruiser...

Thanks for the great words guys. Jarlo I think you hit it having done WW daily for the past year, I feel was the real reason my body let go of the tension so quickly and today 1 week later I had one of the best WW sessions ever. Cant wait for tomorrow :) Our bodies want to heal quickly we just have to get out of our own way just like every thing else.

Ray,

I was just rewatching a video montage of Ramon Dekker.

http://crew.tweakers.net/lunatic/zooi/RamonDekkerHighlight-luna.wmv?num=27939934958

To me, he has a resemblance to you my friend!

I also have in my mind that you fight like this as well.

JasonE

I see the similarity too, but I picture Ray as less willing to eat so many hard shots just to get in a few of his own.

Ramon is a tough guy, but I wouldn't give him any points for subtlety.

Check out this dude... FAST FAST FAST ... did I mention he is FAST?

http://home.comcast.net/~vortrex/manny.mov

Manny Pacquiao has 31 KOs out of his 39 wins, is Ranked #1 in the World, trained by Freddie Roach, was the OPBF Flyweight Champion (1997-98), WBC International Super Bantamweight Champion (1999-01), and has beaten some of the best Fighters in the World. And he is not even going full speed.

Jarlo, he's actually a bit lighter than you... maybe you could fight him under MMA rules after you win a few fights. He's *only* a boxer, you just need to grapple him... You can handle a smaller Filipino dude, cantcha?

Jarlo my friend nothing good can come of this

Ray,

This time you are absolutely correct. No good will come from this!

Manny is awesome. He is such an exciting fighter, who apparently doesn't know how to step backwards!

Jason, stop trying to rile up the filipino brotherhood! I will however bring a pair of gloves for you the next time we see each other... Then, it's GO time!

You're on, bro. I have the weight advantage, but you're in better shape. That should make us about even...

Maybe we can get Chuck to ref it. Scott, Brandon and Doug can take notes and tell us what RMAX stuff we need to work on afterwards, and Ray can provide color commentary for our audience. Don't know if "Superfight" is the right term... "debacle" keeps coming to mind...

I'll bring my ultrasound machine, a couple a bags of ice, some alcohol wipes, a large box of bandaids, and of course a video camera.

Back to W.Wellness Ive been working on something I call walking the wave Its a great exercise to loosen up the back and it has great crossover into M.As Im sure RMAX has it somewhere.

Ray,

Is that similar to that walking exercise we did at the softwork seminar, where we use a spinal wave as we walk?

Maybe we can get Chuck to ref it.

Kewl beans! Let me know when and where. . .

Had a new feeling in my W.W. today. A real solid conection to the ground in my lower back fig 8s. Even though my legs and hips were still I felt as if I were using them to create the circle, a good feel.

I tweeked that same muscle again on Mon the 4th of April right at the end of my daily practice, I was really having some great realeases in my bridges and 4CBD. Even the last pose where you put your foot to your head was really feeling good I almost had my left foot over my head, and I'm an average flexabilty type of guy, And BAM that same spot grabbed me and threw me down.
Went to my chiro about an hour later he said I was perfactly ballanced and in place. All week its been W.W. and bridgeing, oddly enough bridging dosent seem to bother me. In fact Im getting stronger at it.
My intuition tells me that I was reaching a point in my mobility where I was going to be dealing with my original injury which happened years ago while in a front split (something to do with L4, left hamstring and whatevers inbetween) and because of the recent injury my body just wasn't ready to go there and fear reactivity took over.
Today one week later I still have some tension but can walk, sit, and breath normal and actually did some MA solo practice which felt great Love my W.W.

A couple hours after todays training was walking into my bedroom and had this feeling of healing 8) I could do hip circles full pelvis tilt, just knew I could do it and did it. Still a little tension but I cant wait for tomorrow.

Hello Warrior Wellness fans. I am so excited after todays personal practice session I feel like a kid, full pelvis mobility, can bend over and touch just below my knees, and even hit some bags without any weirtd braciing.
Even with this obstacle Ive never had more fun training, and am looking foreward to tomorrows session to see what it has in store for me.

Had a very good day of training today. My plow pose is almost all the way back, can touch my toes, and can even do a twisting spinal arch. Am still carrying a bit of tension, but think I know where to go to deal with the issue. When my back freaked out last time I was in the last pose of the 4CBD where you bring your foot to your forehead and eventually over your head. Today in my training I did a little B.B. and in the hurdler, there was alot of tension. So in my downward dog I picked up one foot to bring it up my centerline, so tight and awkward. Almost as if my body has forgoten how to make circles in this range of motion. The plan is to work this range, my intuition is telling me I need to. Cant wait to see what is in store.

Ray,

Go with your intuition on this one. If the standing pigeon is too demanding, work on it on the ground - the seated pigeon pose, and slowly work through the standing shinroll. It should release that way, if you go incrementally enough and stay beneath the ceiling of an RPD of 3.

Awesome coach , seated, laying, and downward dog version will be added to my daily practice. I have been doing my standing shin rolls for about a week now, almost have all the kinks out. My R knee holds a little tension. Could have something to do with L lower back but my gut tells me it hinges around that L hip.

Good news Warrior Wellness fans. W.W. is kicking some back side on me, todays session had vary low tension and no pain :D I have also added some Be Breathed to my daily practice. Still a little tension in the hurdler, and have added the butterfly, which feels awkward, to my routine.
I seem to be discovering a common thread in my body, anytime my left foot comes to and or up my center line it is an awkward position. Following coachs advise I spent extra time on the seated pigeon pose, as well as the laying and downward dog version.
I think I may be experiencing some sensory motor amnesia in that range.
Even though Im taking the next two days off I may invest a little time in this area.

Ray -

I am following your notes with interest, I'm getting ideas for helping some folks with back issues. Please keep up the good detailed reports! Anything you share that helps or hurts will definitely help someone else later.

It's awesome that you are such a good coach that you can share your personal setbacks and have them turn into positives for others. :D Thanks for the inspiration!

:D :D :D It is now Sat evening and after a day of rest I feel 100%. Woke up this morning did some seated pigeon pose circles and some laying pigeon circles and just hung out with family all day. Will do some of the same before bed. I feel myself eagar to do thoes circles its like learning a new skill and wanting to practice your body craves it. Cant wait to start next weeks training.

Another victory for Warrior Wellness, todays practice no tension in back. In the seated pigeon pose touched foot to forehead I needed help from hands. Will continue to work towards being able to bring foot to forehead without use of hands. That will require a great deal of strength coordination and flexability that i do not posses in that range.
As healing is taking place Im feeling a little scar tissue build up in the spot of the injury it may be time for some deep tissue massage

Last night taught Warrior Wellness to a pro bull rider this guy is all jacked up. Also taught W.W. to a roper, thies cowboys are some stiff individuals. Everything we do in the M.As. crosses over into rodeo really easy. Breathing movement and alinement :D

W.W. update Body is firing on all 8 cylenders. Took my elbow circles back a couple stepes to individual circles. 6 degrees ea, and added more rotation in forearm man does this feel great. Cant wait to work this into figure 8s, the lubrication coordination and application of this forearm movement is going to be way smoother and faster when needed.

Started adding the figure 8 motion to my elbow circles.
As my W.W. progresses I feel I need less revolutions to do the same job. Im at 5 on everything , I feel as if my body knows what it needs to do, when I start my circles the lub pumps turn on and my body prepares for work.
