I just realized that I did not make an introduction on this new forum. I had made a couple of posts in the previous incarnation.

My name is Jarlo Ilano. I am a physical therapist working here in Hawaii. Specifically, I focus on manual therapies (a variety of types best described as osteopathic based joint manipulations and soft tissue techniques) along with movement re-education strategies, and am particularly interested in cervical and shoulder rehabilitation. The information presented by Coach Sonnon is so interesting because it is so much in line with the bodywork and other education I have studied.

If you read anything by Elsa Gindler and her students, you will recognize so much of what Coach Sonnon is exploring. His developments are wonderful examples of the value of applying creativity to scientific thought. This is why I was so intrigued when I first read his work.

I have also been a martial artist for a while, currently focusing on my boxing (with kicks), and just started Judo training.

I know I will learn a lot from you folks here, and hope I can contribute a little.

Jarlo

Jarlo, welcome to the Tribe! It's a pleasure to see a 'somatic engineer' present. Gindler's work is outstanding. I look forward to reading your insights and discoveries.
