Background: I am in my 30's, 5'7", 180lbs. I can snatch a 24kg kettlebell a few times per set, I can do windmills with a 32kg kettlebell a few times per set, and I practice Xing Yi and Tai Ji.

Goals: My strength training has alwasy been to support my martial arts, but now I want to see about cutting some fat and keeping my shoulders loose but stable. Never had any shoulder problems, I just think my kettlebell workouts have produced some tension that is inhibiting my martial arts.

Plan: I was thinking of doing a circuit of windmills and snatches--low reps there--and mills and swipes with my single 15lb. Clubbell, but I have no clue as to what good numbers would be.

Question: what sort of numbers should I be aiming for in the mills and swipes? I don't like doing too many snatches, it seems to bother my back if I do too many, so I was looking to use the mills and swipes as the method of cutting fat. I just don't know if I should be aiming at 50 reps or 100 or what.

Thanks in advance for your help.
