I have been bodybuilding, going to the gym regulary, Recently i read this on www.bodybuilding.com

" Just look at any gym; look at most actors, models; and yes, look at most personal trainers, martial artists, physical therapists and celebrity coaches. What do you see? You see this strange Cro-Magnon carriage of forward transposed neck, sunken chest (and of course compensatory over developed pecs), distended over-developed abdominal wall, posteriorly tilted pelvis (accompanied with a "fanny pack" of lower back tension). "

So i think i could have some of this stuff here mentioned. How do i determin if i have and what i have? Also in article there is mention of abs exercises and leg curls?! But how can quadriceps leg curl or ab exercises cause posterior tilted pelvis? Could someone/coach maybe further develope this topic?

Hi Doc,

Well, it's about movement. Imbalanced development around joints tends to restrict that joints' ability to move. The beginning movements of a joint mobility program like Warrior Wellness are diagnostic as well as therapeutic. While performing the program, ask yourself, "where am I restricted?". You'll be able to feel those areas of tension. Then use the gentle movements to recover mobility that you've lost.

Now if you suspect that you're doing the cro-magnon walk, have someone take polaroids from the front, back and side while you stand relaxed. You might be unpleasantly surprised to see how you actually stand.

As for the leg curls and extensions, etc. Bodybuilders tend to do a lot of isolation movements that can lead to asymmetrical development as well as training somewhat unnatural movement patterns. For instance, I'm still waiting to find a use for the pec deck. :) When is that move going to come in handy?

As for the ab work leading to pelvic distortions, unfortunately, most people overwork their hip flexors, while the abdominals are not trained to perform their primary function, that is, to act as a platform and spinal stabilizer.

But that's a discussion for another day. I hope this pointed you in some useful directions. I'd start with some Warrior Wellness. As you go through the program you'll probably discover areas that could use mobilizing. If you have further questions, please feel free to post them here.

Best,

Kevin

Oh, almost forgot. If you haven't checked in yet at The Welcome Mat, please do so, it's standard practice around here to introduce yourself to everybody.

I look forward to hearing about your progress, Doc.

Best,

Kevin

Please begin by observing our forum courtesy policy of posting your introduction to your background and interests here at RMAX in the Welcome Mat including your full real name in the signature.
I see you are from Croatia with almost the exact same IP address as username "Marko Boss (http://www.circularstrengthmag.com/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2134)". With the similarity of your IPs, you could be neighbors. And Marko is in need of a training partner.

I talked to this guy recently, we use the same news group so we ended up on this same link. We will probably try together to get warior welnes and probably train together as you suggesed.

By the way Coach Sonnon you seem to be expert on everything you put your hands and like to track down IP adresses of people visiting forum.

Great that you two are together!

Not an expert by any means; I'm a total novice when it comes to internet/computer technology. However, there is an incredible design staff who keep me advised and updated. Fortunately, realizing your regional location brought you together with another RMAX enthusiast in your country already!

I am not getting it. Maybe I should go visit Robert Verdell in Lansing.

Maybe another run through the tape would help. Or three. I am trying to free my mind.

Work in a cycle of practice, rather than merely watching the tape. You'll understand the benefits having performed it for a cycle.

Robert's an amazing fighter, instructor and friend. You'll really appreciate training with him if you get the opportunity.

Hope the time-off has gone well for you spending time with family, and you've found new avenues for yourself.
