Aloha CST Forum, members and hosts.
My name is Kawika and I was born, raised, and still reside on the island of O'ahu in the State of Hawai'i. Have been training with weights since I was 7y/o (when I used to tag along with my dad to the gym when he used to belong to a powerlifting club), but seriously trained in middle school. Sports-wise I played soccer just about my whole childhood and high school till I went to college. There is where I concentrated on weight lifting and competed in powerlifting tournaments in college. In fact that's where I learned to understand the world of using weights outside of bodybuilding. That's also when I got involved in other sports (football, basketball, judo). My favorite was martial arts. So for the next 11yrs I have trained with Hawaii Wing Chun Kung-Fu Association in Kane'ohe, which in turn introduced me to JKD, Kali, Gracie JiuJitsu and Judo. But since I started my career as a Fire Fighter and family-dude, training has tapered off a bit, but plan a strong comeback. The knowledge I think I need to know might be found here.
Mahalo for having me,
Kawika
