Dear All,
I thought I'd check in and explain my sporadic presence over the past few months.
In February I ruptured by Achilles tendon while doing some simple tumbling in a theatre rehearsal (strange but true). I had to have surgery and spent 4 weeks casted and I'm coming to the end of 4 weeks in a support boot in which I can walk. Everything looks great but I've lost a lot of proprioception in my lower left leg and the muscle atrophy in my calf is quite severe.
So I've been laying low here on the forum. I teach freelance at a university and college up here and I can't take a sick leave without actually losing my positions. So figuring out how to teach acting and movement with a bad leg has taken up all my time and energy (as well as healing...)
Term ends today, and, along with the spring, my new Clubbells arrived by Fed Ex (15lbs). As soon as my Sports Therapist clears me, I'll be requesting a program (although I suspect 3 weeks of rock-its to get me back in the groove is what I can expect!).
I have a job interview at the University of Ottawa this week and will take advantage of this to visit with Ryan Murdock and hear about CST Eta.
Longer term, I'm confident that Randall and I will be able to return to our martial training together and continue to post our work here.
Thanks to all for the support over the past few months. If Softwork happens, I look forward to meeting you all there!
Best,
Daniel
