Hello all-

Having perused many of the threads and deciding that I want ALL of Coach Sonnon's products, I am faced with "analysis paralysis". Where do I start? A little about me. I am a 30 year old, recovering fatbody who is looking to drop some serious weight. I'm 5'10" and now weigh 230 - I think 190 would be a good weight for me. I am currently doing kettlebells and have started the NHE diet to facilitate the weight loss. I have 3 main reasons to want to drop weight. 1) I hate what I look and feel like 2) I stickfight with Dogzilla of the Dog Brothers and want to be in great fighting shape for a possible March gathering. I am sick and tired of being worn out in :30 seconds (yes, my cardio is non-existent as well) 3) Vanity - I'm tired of being 'the fat funny one' of the group. I'm fairly ashamed to admit to what I've become over the course of some 6 years. When I was in the Marines, I was a lean 170, but put on a LOT of fat plus some muscle in the subsequent years. So I think right now 190 is a good goal.

Anyway, aside from weightloss, my main goals for training are to supplement my stickfighting/self-defense training. Sorry for the long winded post, but any advice would be much appreciated. Mahalo in advance. Oh yeah, my flexibility is not great either and my breathing technique is probably horrendous as well. All that being said, I am alive...so things could be worse. :D

Aloha, Kalani

Kalani,

Start with two Cruiser weight Clubbells, the CST book and video. Let's export your request to the Training Program Design Help Desk. I'll craft you a program so we can achieve your fitness and fighting goals.

Poi,

Welcome. I've seen you over at DD (I'm Prana). Give me an idea of how your'e implementing NHE and your progress at the healthy nutrtion area here. Maybe I can help you get there. I doubt going to a Dog gathering, with those, ah, how should I say this, maniacs, in less then top shape is too fun.

Kalani,

As Coach Sonnon mentioned above his CST book and video is an excellent choice.

Begin your program slowly and be consistent.

thank you

Coach Sonnon - Mahalo for the help. I'm in Hawaii, so I may not be able to order the clubbells until my next paycheck (shipping costs to Hawaii are a groin kick  ). I will be ordering the book and video right away to get a jump on prepping my brain for what's in store. Should I wait to post over on the program help desk until my CBs arrive?

Bill - I'll get my response posted over on the health/nutrition forum right away. Mahalo for the help. BTW, I didn't post it on DD, but congrats on moderating the health/weight loss forum.

Coach Hale - Mahalo for the tips. BTW, really dig your website.

You can post now to the Program Design Help Desk, and find a temporary substitute for your Clubbells.
