This part of the Circular Strength Training Forum is intended for those of us who, to paraphrase the Jefferson Airplane (am I dating myself?), know we're only as pretty as we feel -- and Z-Health makes us feel good.

Just for the record: I got into Z about 2-3 (?) years ago when lower back pain caused by a supposedly herniated disc resisted PT and the doc said the next step was surgery. Instead, after working through Tai Chi, Pilates, and various schools of Yoga, I opted for the road less traveled: Z and kettlebells and am glad I did. (I still do them, just with greater awareness of different possibilities.)

Last January, as a girevoy sport competitor (kettlebell lifting), I'd injured my right knee in a freak jump rope accident. I had 9 months of slow rehab with ongoing pain until, finally, I posted a Q on this forum, received several diagnostic and prescriptive replies from Coach Sonnon. Within two weeks, I regained full ROM and am pain-free. I'm looking forward to using my clubbells & Z to get me ready for ski season (cross-country, primarily) and improve the motion needed for Russian Martial Art.

Better than that, my 13-year old son thinks his 55-year old Dad is in training to become an acrobat when he sees me doing the biomechanical exercises and kinetic chains from Body-Flow, Maximology, and Be Breathed (among others). My 16 year old daughter just thinks I'm weird. Even we can't fix some things.

So, here's our chance to, paraphrase Chubby Checker, twist and shout about it. Just remember: there's more of us (Boomers) than there are of them (brazen youth) 8) . Here's your opportunity not only to renew your connective tissue but to connect with others doing the same.

Here's to a full range of movement & discussion!

If you are 50+ and want to share/read the insights and experiences of others of your ilk, this is your spot. We all know our needs and interests shift and evolve with age. This portion of the CST forum is for those of us who refuse to devolve as well! While we might not have the stamina or raw brute strength of a 20 or 30 year old, we should never forget the bumper sticker: Age and stealth will always triumph over youth and force! 8)

One of the craftiest things I’ve ever done (in retrospect) was get involved with Z-Health and Circular Strength Training. One of the dumbest was not doing it sooner! But here we are and now we have only our kinks and stiff habits to loose! And, guys/gals, we aren’t that old. Just cruise through a retirement home or community if you doubt it! By showing others our age just what is possible with CST, we can even hope to ‘pay it forward’ to help our elders ease their pain and discomfort in their even older age.

Obligatory bio: 56 years old, 5’11”, 160 lbs, been involved with CST and Z-Health for just over a year, no athletic endeavors since high school, very much in the ‘rehab’ mode of reclaiming my Body Flow. With the tools and information being shared on this forum, our future looms incredibly bright and exciting.

We have a gold mine here. Let’s mine it and spread the wealth. :!:
