Another great RMAX resource, thanks yawl! Now let's see who all else is out there and what you're doing. Log in, and sound off.

At 57, I'm still 5'11 145 (and a lot of the mindset) I was at 17. (Looks like I'll get "The Who's" wish and die before I get old.) My athletic... um, career... consisted of nothing in school, surfing Hawaii in my 20s, and mowing the grass since, until 3yrs ago the tribe and I discovered each other.

Since then I've been in boxing and BJJ training. Yes, it killed me several times over at first. Boxing, I go 15 clock rounds in 90 degree heat (with mits and bags, not getting hit, I'm crazy but I'm not nuts). BJJ, I've been known to roll for a half-hour nonstop with teenagers my exact dimensions. And I coach a group of teen beginners in kickboxing... we're in the "Training Logs" forum.

Where's all this going? Well, unlikely PanAm, and REAL unlikely the swimsuit issue of "Hunk". It's the joy of improving health and performance, as opposed to watching it decline. And the novelty of hearing a 17yo say "I've never seen an old guy do THAT!".

"..We gon' have a good ol' time, Don't be scared cuz there ain't nothin to worry about, Let yer hair down, Squaredance with me" (Eminem)

Rick:

When I saw you're 5; 11" and 145lbs -- same as you were a few decades ago -- I was in awe.

I'm 5' 10", 200 lbs, but w/ a goal of getting to 190 in Jan (post-holidays), ultimately to 175/180, which was my weight after I got out of the Army in 1971.

Anything in particular you do to maintain your weight? (I realize this Q probably belongs in Health/Diet, but this is for Z-geezers and such.)

I alternate ballistic KB exercise days w/ Z (Body-Flow, etc.) I've noticed resistance + interval running to be good for peeling off pounds, when combined w/ "push-aways."

Ken,
Just a comment on your point regarding post placement protocol: Now that we've established this resource (from your brilliant suggestion), I think we can safely say that if it's a 50+'er who wishes to gain Boomer-specific input, then although it may draw from Strength, Conditioning, Performance Enhancement, Bodyweight and Biomechanical Exercise, Weight Loss and Nutrition, Rehab, Regen and Recover... this forum intends to distill those insights and suggestions for the members. Thanks again for your contributions.

Thank you Coach and Ken. It went unsaid, that I'm doing what I do because you and all the 'MAXers do what you do.

Ken... the static weight and size are genetic. I eat protein, carbs, and fat... all I can hold and process... and sometimes 3 desserts (ask Dan). It's a blessing and a curse, I'm not sure I'd choose to be permanently the size of a 10th grader.

Endocrinologically, I may have shutdown HGH early. My guess is that I overproduce myostatin, because I can almost watch muscles deflate. I may be super-efficient at burning everything I eat, or inefficient at absorbing nutrients, but I rarely feel hungry in between the customary times I eat. I take a stash of performance-support supplements, posted on my website if anyone's curious, click the WWW button. Any other "hard-gainers" out there, found a way around it?

When you think about it, Z-Health and CST are already a distillation of Coach Sonnon's many years of experience, insight, and understanding. To distill such a brew promises a mighty potent elixir, indeed! .
