Hello,

When I'm doing be breathed, my right hip always makes like a thunk or a clunk when I'm on the way down. This happens during both the situp part and the leg lift part. Is this something I have to worry about? Is there a way to stop it? It doesn't hurt, it's just kind of disturbing.

Thanks.

Chris,
I've been dealing with a noisy right hip for a while (it clunked the way you've described when I did BB). I still couldn't tell you exactly what it is that makes the noise, but here are a few things I learned along the way that might help you.

Jarlo wrote a good article about it all that eased my mind:

I had a sacroiliac dysfunction on my right side that caused much of the clunking I experienced. For me, I think the noise is likely a muscle, tendon or ligament around the top of femur/hip joint that gets pulled out of place (by the bone) and then snaps back (clunks) as it is released by the motion. When my sacroiliac was displaced and stuck, my leg clunked horrendously _every_ time. It became my most reliable test to tell if the joint was stuck. I'd be way out of bounds to suggest you have a similar condition - you'd likely know if you did. It hurts like heck.

My sacroiliac is now stable and good, but I'm still working on bad mechanics in my pelvis that cause it to pop with certain motions or with tension from certain directions. It only happens with be breathed at the end, when I am fatigued. The focus on improving mechanics is definitely helping in my case.

WW beginner side hip sit, shinbox switch, shoulder bridges, four corner balance drill and leg circles all seem to make a difference for me.

If you move this thread to the Warror Wellness forum or ask there, you're likely to get some advice from one of the Doctors Kevin. They've always given me good advice.

Good luck. I hope this is of some help.
